> Social events
Symposium Social Events are excellent networking opportunities where attendees and speakers have the chance to get together in an atmosphere that is both relaxed and informal. These particular social events have by now become integral and essential to the full Lisbon Laser experience.

Even though these events are included in the conference attendance fee, do remember to register your attendance at each event so that we may organize accordingly to the exact number of participants and therefore maximize the quality of the experience as a whole.

We will not have a specific Companion Package.
If you wish to bring a companion to these social events that is not attending the Symposium, the price will be:
WELCOME DINNER: 70€ per person
CONFERENCE BANQUET: 90€ per person
You may include this option on the registration form.

The Symposium Organization will provide transportation to and from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to both events.

WELCOME DINNER: 9th July, Monday

MAR do GUINCHO

Located in a cliff, with large windows over the Ocean, "Mar do Guincho" has a privileged view over the unique Guincho's landscape well known by the Guincho Beach, a popular Atlantic beach located on Portugal's Estoril coast, 5 km from the town of Cascais.

This beach was famously featured in the pre-titles sequence of the James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service, wherein James Bond rescues Contessa Teresa de Vicenzo from a suicide attempt and foils off two attackers in the surf; the beach still looks as it did in 1969. More recently, the beach served as location for the shooting of This Side of Resurrection.

In the 90's, Guincho was one of the locations for the windsurfing world cup. Today, several sporting events are held at Guincho regularly, including the Portuguese National Surfing and BodyBoarding Championships.

SYMPOSIUM BANQUET: 11th July, Wednesday

KAIS

Restaurant Kais is housed in a late XIX century old warehouse, by the riverside, which was used to generate energy for Portuguese trams that still work in our days. The warehouse was fully recovered and is now one of the most beautiful restaurants you will ever see.

The actual design and decoration was conceived with much honour, by a very famous Portuguese Interior Decorator, Maria José Salavisa, who respected the industrial roots of the warehouse. Maria José Salavisa believed that the industrial epóque style was a winner. Reflected in the building, is the theory of the Arquitect Otto Wagner, who said that; "the actual structure and materials used to construct the building should be visible", for this reason, the elements of the structure and of the old factory where left to be seen.

Our thousand years old Olive trees, which represent happiness and gayness also serve as a means of invoquing the past; the water that flows down the fountain into our lake, suggest a connection with the sea and our Discovery era; the vast windows leave an open sky, allowing the stars which once upon a time guided our glorious conquerors to foreign lands and now guide us.

A Frank Lloyd Wright inspired furniture, created an industrial-chique atmosphere, well as the choreography of hundreds of candles and warm lighting, that transform the immense room into an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, besides this You still have a Jazz & Blues band which make You company at the sound of eternal Jazz Fusion themes.
